Georgina Hooper’s work spans across a variety of media areas, which she selects to best express her concept and meaning. Hooper began her training at university majoring in painting and working predominately with oil on canvas. She then extended this to include ink and watercolour on paper with her scholarly research and training in traditional Chinese landscape painting.
Hooper’s paintings on porcelain ceramic herald from her artistic ties to China and Japan where she works in the ceramic villages of Jingdezhen and Nakaoyama. Hooper also develops large scale interactive installations and works with collaborative textile design.
