Artists Residencies and Internships

Georgina Hooper has been invited to undertake a number of artist residencies.

These have been in both China and Japan and have provided the artist with extensive skill development and a great wealth of artistic inspiration as a result of this enriching cultural exchange.

Hooper learnt traditional Chinese landscape painting from a theoretical perspective during her development on her honours thesis at UQ. She was then awarded a research scholarship to Tianjin University in China, where she solidified her understanding of Chinese landscape painting, where she worked one-on-one under the tutelageĀ of artist and Professor Dong Ya.

Georgina Hooper's first works in the traditional Chinese landscape painting technique, developed in China at Tianjin University as a research scholar.
